Once a farming community, Loudon has since turned into a quiet bedroom community for Concord, NH. Loudon is located just south of Belmont on Route 106, where you'll also find the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. This mile long track, which is often referred to as the "Magic Mile", is home to NASCAR racing two weekends a year (which really means close to 2 full weeks worth of activities). It also hosts the Loudon Classic every June, which the oldest championship motorcycle road race in the country. It attracts approximately 300,000 tourists to the region. These three events pour millions of dollars into the State's economy every year. The New Hampshire Motor Speedway holds over 100,000 spectators making it the largest stadium in New England. There are also a variety of smaller races and events there throughout the summer. So I'd have to admit there are at least three weeks a year that Loudon might not be so quiet, but those weeks are pretty exciting!
Despite all the hoopla, roaring engines, and traffic during these events, Loudon still enjoys a rural character with a number of original farmstead properties out on the back roads. You'll find stunning mountain views across the large pastures on some of these great old farms if you take a ride out Loudon Ridge Road.
A little south of the race track you'll also find the Loudon Country Club and a little further south the town village and schools. Loudon is an easy commute to either the Lakes Region or Concord making it a great location to call home.
