Meredith has been a favorite of Lakes Region visitors for years and why not? Enjoying an exquisite setting on Meredith Bay, Meredith has gone through a transformation in recent years making it into a world class destination with a perfect blend of great accommodations, shopping, dining, and an unmistakable home-town atmosphere.

You'll find lodging and dining at The Inn at Mill Falls (part of the Mill Falls Marketplace), The Inn at Bay Point, The Chase House, and the recently completed Church Landing facility featuring the Cascade Spa. Great restaurants include the Common Man Restaurants: Lago Trattitoria at Bay Point, The Camp at the Chase House, The Lakehouse Grille at Church Landing, and The Town Docks Restaurant where you can sit out by the water, enjoy a tropical drink or ice cream, and pretend you're in the islands.

You'll see lots of boating activity over at the town docks with vacationers and residents alike jockeying for a space so they can come ashore and enjoy the shopping or have lunch or dinner. Watching some people dock their boat can be very amusing. The M/S Mt. Washington also docks here to take on or let off passengers. That captain does know what he is doing! There is a scenic waterfront park and walkway to take a stroll on and enjoy exquisite lake and mountain scenery.

The restored Mill Falls Marketplace is a 19th century mill with a 40ft waterfall and has many unique shops, galleries, and a restaurant. Just behind Mills Falls you'll find a wonderful main street offering even more shopping and eating experiences. Just up from the Mill, you'll find the League of NH Craftsmen that offers some unique, handmade gifts. Up a little further you'll find the Burlwood Antique Center which has three floors of great stuff. You can buy one of those cherished toys that you broke when you were a kid for about 100 times what it cost then.

Meredith offers residents, as well as visitors, a great variety of year-round activities. Summer recreation includes hiking, golfing tennis, boating, sailing, water skiing, swimming, yachting, fishing, and wave runners. Meredith is all about water activities whether it is a cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee or spending a peaceful afternoon on beautiful Lake Waukewan.

Winter activities include cross country trails, snowmobiling, ice skating, ice sailing, winter hiking, and ice fishing. You'll be amazed at the carnival atmosphere surrounding the annual ice fishing derby with hundreds of colorful bob-houses out on the bay and the even more colorful characters competing for the grand prizes.
